Turret Punch Press Operator - 2nd shift (3:30pm-2:00am)

Description:
As a Turret Operator, you are responsible for the safe operation of the turret to punch parts for fabrication. You will perform all turret operational functions consistently producing high-volume parts in a cost-efficient manner. Other responsibilities may be assigned. Work with little supervision.

Job Duties/Responsibilities May Include, but Not Limited To:
  • Ability or willing to learn to read and understand turret program and set up sheet.
  • Ability or willing to learn to understands material thickness, type of material, and finish of material.
  • Check material thickness and material type called out to ensure it corresponds to customer specification and program.
  • Ability or willing to learn to assembly tools, and special tools to install into turret according to program.
  • Operate forklift to load and unload material into automated loader.
  • Perform all necessary day-to-day maintenance on turret, as/when required.
  • Perform in-process inspections using calibrated precision measuring instruments to meet customer specifications and record results on quality.
  • Ability to read and comprehend job traveler instructions as well as any special instructions.
  • Meet production rates as they are set.
  • Must demonstrate the ability and willingness to assist with “on the job” training.
  • Comply with all appropriate quality standards and fully support the ISO Program.
  • Comply with good manufacturing practices, continuous improvement idea reporting, waste elimination and standard work.
  • Comply with OSHA requirements, safety, good housekeeping and 5S policies and procedures.

Qualifications / Education / Experience:
Required Qualifications:
  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must have basic knowledge of mathematics.
  • Must have basic computer skills or willing to learn to clock in and out of jobs and report production quantities accurately.
  • Ability to be at work at scheduled shift time.
  • Ability to lift sheet metal parts occasional up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced team environment.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend safety procedures, work instructions and other procedural documents.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Requires repetitive movement, bending or twisting.
  • Ability to work OT when required, including weekends.
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail and be attentive.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Previous sheet metal experience.
  • Ability to operate forklift.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, product specifications and quality documentation.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment: calipers, squares, and other measurement equipment.
