Part-Time CDL Truck Driver - Local Route

Description:
As a Truck Driver, you will transport sheet metal parts to and from specified destinations, applying DOT requirements and Safety measures to ensure transportation of parts are damage free. Other responsibilities may be assigned. Work with minimum supervision.

Job Duties/Responsibilities May Include, but Not Limited To:
  • Transport sheet metal parts to and from specified destinations, properly restraining the load to conform to DOT specifications and to prevent handling/transit damage/deterioration to the materials.
  • Maintains telephone contact with supervisor to receive instructions/make communications.
  • Load and unload truck as needed.
  • Ensure all documentation is present, complete and accurate.
  • Perform pre-trip truck inspections daily.
  • Wash truck on a schedule.
  • Maintain positive relationship with all customers presenting yourself in a professional manner and appearance.
  • Comply with all appropriate Quality Standards and fully support the ISO Program.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination and Standard Work.
  • Comply with OSHA Requirements, Safety, Good Housekeeping and 5S Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications / Education / Experience:
Required Qualifications:
  • Possession of a current and valid Driver's License and CDL endorsement.
  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must know how to communicate with people well.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must have basic knowledge of mathematics.
  • Must have basic Computer skills or willing to learn to clock in and out of jobs and report production quantities accurately.
  • Ability to be at work at scheduled shift time.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend safety procedures, work instructions and other procedural documents.
  • Ability to work OT when required, including weekends.
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail and be attentive.
  • Acquire approval from Insurance Carrier determined by motor vehicle record.
  • The ability to carry materials and equipment that you are hauling and to operate equipment when loading and un-loading.
  • Vehicle drivers will be subject to drug and alcohol testing in compliance with DOT requirements.

Desired Qualifications:
  • 5+ Years of Previous Truck Driving Experience.
  • Ability to operate Forklift.
